Port Macquarie Adventist School (PMAS)
THE CHALLENGE
The school was the best kept secret in the area. Recently Joyanne became Principal and needed to revitalise the school. It needed growth, transformation and a story that could be clearly communicated to others.
The challenge was where to start? A new identity would mean a whole new uniform and more cost… The school also needed to expand its offering beyond K-6 and this was identified as the most pressing issue so we began.
OUR SOLUTION
We started from the ground-up, identifying PMAS uniqueness and workshopped the secondary school idea (year 7-12). It was like reinventing a classic car, blending:
Learning = growth + stretching
School = playful child-like
Adventist = classic professional
Our conclusion was pure joy! We stretched the typography and logo to show growth, we combined icons into the text to show the playfulness yet retaining the Adventist symbol as a classic trust point. The rollout has brought new energy and vision to the School as it becomes known in the region for ‘doing learning differently’.
